Out There

Have you ever had a moment where you were alone and everything around you was still, quiet, and calming? I experienced this while biking along Lake Michigan, and I realized I needed to hit pause on my fast paced life. The atmosphere was perfect for simply sitting and pondering. As I gazed out into the lake, there was a thick layer of fog above it. It gave me an uneasy feeling. The lake is such a big thing, yet the fog only allowed me to see a small fraction of it. I began wondering what could be staring back at me from within the fog, and what could be swimming just below me as my feet dangled above the surface. I began to think; Who’s to know what’s really out there?
